Chris Perez to Speak on International Documentary Association Panel at the Biennial Getting Real Conference

Chris Perez is slated to speak on the “Worth Our Weight In Gold: Identifying Value in Your Production” panel at this year’s Getting Real conference hosted by the International Documentary Association. The conference will take place from April 15th to 18th, 2024, in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. The “Worth Our Weight In Gold” panel is scheduled to begin at 2:15 pm PST on April 17th in the DoubleTree’s Golden State Ballroom. The panel will delve into the most effective ways in which documentary filmmakers and producers can plan for a film’s distribution path in its earliest stages, including impact campaign planning, story rights, and co-production agreements.

The sixth edition of IDA’s Getting Real conference is now the largest gathering of its kind in North America, created by and for nonfiction filmmakers to celebrate both the business and art of documentary storytelling over the last decade. The four-day event will bring together major streaming platforms, agencies, and independent filmmakers to discuss solutions for industry issues pertaining to ethics, creativity, sustainability, production, and distribution.
