Lisa Callif to Speak at the 2025 Film Independent Forum on AI Legal Challenges in the Creative Industries 

Lisa Callif will be sharing legal insights at the 2025 Film Independent Forum on September 27th at 12:30 pm, hosted at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles, CA. The annual event is the industry’s preeminent conference, offering candid conversations from independent filmmakers and industry professionals who are shaping the independent film sector.

In the presentation entitled “A.I. and I.P.: A Legal Perspective,” Lisa will be joined by Adam Bhala Lough, director of the independent film “Deepfaking Sam Altman,” for a thought-provoking discussion on the use of artificial intelligence in the creative industries.

Throughout this conversation, Lisa will answer the biggest legal questions regarding AI in the independent filmmaking industry, as well as dive into the legal challenges filmmakers face as she converses with Adam Bhala Lough, specifically on how AI impacted the creation of his film Deepfaking Sam Altman.
