Lisa Callif Featured in CNBC Article on Issues Surrounding the Use of AI in Hollywood

Lisa Callif was recently quoted in CNBC’s article, “Hollywood’s AI issues are far from settled after writers’ labor deal with studios,” which delves into the use of AI in Hollywood following the Writers Guild’s new agreement with studios. While the WGA secured many protections on the use of AI for productions, the contract does allow studios to train AI using preexisting material.

Lisa described the issue of studios training AI with preexisting works as a gray area where larger issues can emerge. “One of the biggest issues we’re dealing with is the misappropriation of how AI uses source material and creates new material out of it without permission,” Lisa said. “How do you control this? I think it really comes down to human behavior.”
