DCP Pens Letter on Behalf of the Indie Film Community to Senate Judiciary Committee on the Importance of Limiting Federal Right of Publicity

On July 12, 2023, a Senate hearing explored the potential implications of extending the national right of publicity to creative works, a move that would be detrimental to the freedom of speech and storytelling. In response, Donaldson Callif Perez, LLP recently penned a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee Subcommittee on Intellectual Property on behalf of members of Film Independent and the International Documentary Association expressing its continued advocacy in protecting the rights of independent filmmakers and other creatives.
