Dale Nelson Named to Daily Journal’s 2025 “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers” List

The firm is pleased to announce that Dale Nelson was recently recognized among the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal‘s “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers” for 2025. The annual issue highlights the highest performing intellectual property attorneys working in patent litigation, trademark, and copyright law in the state of California.

The Daily Journal highlighted Dale’s accomplishments this year representing independent creators and production companies, helping them navigate fair use and copyright law to avoid any legal roadblocks in telling a story with narrative or nonfiction filmmaking or other artistic projects.

“Our goal is to advise the client on what they can or shouldn’t do, in terms of reliance on fair use for the use of copyrighted works in their projects without permission of the copyright owners and avoiding rights of publicity or defamation claims when telling their stories,” Dale tells the Daily Journal.

Dale’s profile also recognized her work acting as production counsel in several complex projects, ranging from a documentary filmed inside a video game, to a film about the making of “We Are the World” that utilized previously unseen archival footage, to a documentary about a victim of AI deepfakes.

“Many of these projects involve speaking truth about powerful people or institutions, or address important topics that may be unknown to the general public,” Dale added.

Congratulations to Dale and the rest of the honorees on this incredible accomplishment!
