Michael Donaldson will receive the International Documentary Association’s Amicus Award on Friday. Donaldson, an entertainment lawyer with Donaldson & Callif in Beverly Hills, is being recognized for the pro bono work he’s done on behalf of filmmakers. He received his J.D. from UC-Berkeley School of Law in 1967.
Marks, Golia & Finch has promoted Louis Blum to partner, effective Jan. 1. Blum, who joined the San Diego firm as a summer associate in 2001, focuses on construction law, civil litigation, business litigation and intellectual property law. He graduated from University of San Diego School of Law in 2002.
Andrea Figler Ventura has joined Dykema as an associate in Los Angeles. Ventura, who was a law clerk for U.S. District Judges George Schiavelli and Robert Timlin of the Central District of California, focuses on commercial, consumer finance, automotive and products liability litigation. She is a 2006 graduate of Southwestern Law School.
Harry Histen III was installed as president of the Riverside County Bar Association for 2009-2010, while James Heiting received RCBA’s highest honor, the James A. Krieger Meritorious Service Award.
Histen, a Riverside solo practitioner, focuses on trusts and estate planning, business law and mediation. He graduated from Western State University Law School in 1976.
Heiting, managing partner of Heiting & Irwin in Riverside, focuses on civil litigation. He also received his J.D. from Western State University in 1976.
San Francisco
Renne Sloan Holtzman Sakai has elevated Dania Torres Wong to partner. Wong focuses on labor and employment law. She received her J.D. from Hastings College of the Law in 1990.
Linda Daube has joined Kaufman Dolowich Voluck & Gonzo as an of counsel. Daube previously had her own firm, the Law Office of Linda L. Daube, and provides general counsel and litigation services in employment and labor law. She is a 1983 graduate of Southwestern Law School.
Silicon Valley
Haynes and Boone has added Pavel Pogodin as partner in the firm’s San Jose office. Pogodin, who was previously with Sughrue Mion, focuses on intellectual property law. He received his J.D. from University of Iowa College of Law in 1999.
Santa Clara County Superior Court received the 2008-2009 Ralph N. Kleps Award for Improvement in Administration of the Courts for its program, Giving Families a Chance: The Collaboration between Family Court Services and FIRST 5. It is the highest award given to state courts by the Judicial Council.

Renne Sloan Holtzman Sakai has elevated Timothy Yeung to partner. Yeung focuses on labor and employment law and received his J.D. from UC-Davis School of Law in 1996.
